Tap In.

Recently, I've begun to feel that many of us don't realize the power of the God we serve. We don't believe the Bible when it says that with God all things are possible. It's true though, not some things, not most things, but ALL things are possible with God. We need to realign our minds to think this way and readjust our gaze to see this way. Our God is all powerful, and everything that is good and everything that is perfect comes from Him. Why and how are you perpetuating the distance between you and the God who is relentlessly chasing after you? How is it that you "talk to God" every day but your life couldn't look any more distant from Him if you tried? How is it that you read your Word every day but can't recall a single scripture to help you move from where you are to where you need to be?

It is so disheartening to see a people who throw all caution to the wind and live with no regard for the God that created them, or better yet, no regard for the temple that God gave them. We did not come here to be rich and famous and to make all types of money and have a billion friends. Your "yes" to God was not a yes to fancy cars and designer clothes. Your "yes" was a yes to servant-ship. You said yes to following Christ and now it is time to clothe yourself in humility.

Lose the haughtiness, close the gap, and tap in.

Come off of your high horse, and stop thinking you are better than others. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Jesus said, "“If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” As a Christian, as a follower, you are by nature a servant. Other people aren't sent here to make life comfortable and convenient for you; as a Christian the reverse is true. Everyone you walk by is as important as Jesus, and you are the lowly and humble servant.

As he pulls us deeper, we must submit even lower.

I was taught that servant-ship is a daily choice, along with humility. Jesus paid the price for our servant-ship, and now it is wired into us to serve.  Often times we are blinded by who we could be or who we want to be and we forget to make the choice to serve. It really isn't rocket science; we all know how to be who we were created to be, when we feel that is time. The kicker is this: it's always time. Never should I wake up and feel too good to serve; because this is my life long commitment as a follower of Christ.

I'm challenging myself to implement this conscious awareness of my purpose into my life more and more each day. I believe that life will be a thousand times more fulfilling when I scale back the "what's in it for me" mentality that is chained to my flesh, and serve like I am supposed to.
